Visiting Lecture Session


On Friday, 23rd August 2024, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) will host an engaging and insightful Visiting Lecture Session. Scheduled to take place from 8:45 AM to 11:30 AM at Lecture Room 3, Ground Floor, this event is set to bring together esteemed academics and researchers for an inspiring exchange of knowledge.

The session will commence with welcoming remarks by two distinguished individuals:
Prof. Dr. Asmady Idris, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and Dr. Novrida Qudsi Lutfillah, Director of Peneleh Research Institute.
Two compelling lectures will follow:
Dr. Pauline Yong Pau Lin, Lecturer in Sociology and Social Anthropology, UMS, will present her topic, “From Words to Wisdom: The Art of Data Collection in Qualitative Research.” This session will provide an in-depth exploration of qualitative research methodologies, offering valuable insights into data collection techniques.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aji Dedi Mulawarman, Lecturer from the Department of Accountancy at Universitas Brawijaya, will deliver his lecture on “Paradigma Nusantara: Decolonizing Science Agenda.”

This discussion will challenge conventional scientific perspectives, highlighting the importance of decolonizing knowledge systems within academia.
This lecture session aims to foster collaborative discussions, spark intellectual curiosity, and strengthen academic ties. Staff, students, and researchers are warmly invited to participate in this enriching event.
